Ingredients

1 cup unsalted melted butter

1 cup chocolate chips

1 ¼ cup white sugar

½ cup brown sugar

4 large eggs

½ cup cocoa powder

3 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup flour

½ tsp tsp salt

8 oz cream cheese

3 tbsp sour cream

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

In a bowl add in 1 cup of melted unsalted butter and 1/2 cup of chocolate chip cookies. The heat of the melted butter will help melt the chocolate chips. If needed, microwave the bowl for 20 seconds to speed up the process.

1 cup unsalted melted butter

½ cup chocolate chips

Step 3

Once the chocolate is completely melted, mix in 1 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Then add in 3 eggs and 2 tsp vanilla extract. Now add in 1/2 cup of cocoa powder.

1 cup white sugar

½ cup brown sugar

3 large eggs

½ cup cocoa powder

Step 4

Next add 1 cup of flour and 1/2 tsp of salt and using a spatula fold in the ingredients together to avoid air bubbles. Then add in 1/2 cup chocolate chips and continue folding.

1 cup flour

½ tsp tsp salt

½ cup chocolate chips

Step 5

Grease an 11x7 or 9x9 pan and add the brownie batter inside. Save 1/3 cup of the brownie batter for the topping and set it aside.

Step 6

Now to prepare the cheesecake filling. In a bowl, mix a block of room temperature cream cheese on high speed for 5 minutes. Then add in 1/2 cup of white sugar. Then after 3 minutes, scrape off the sides of the bowl with a spatula to ensure everything is well combined. Mix for another minute then add in 3 tablespoons of cream cheese, 1 large egg and 1 tsp of vanilla extract until everything is well combined.

8 oz cream cheese

¼ cup white sugar

3 tbsp sour cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

Step 7

Then add the cheesecake filling on top of the brownie batter and spread it evenly. Add dollops of brownie batter on top of the cheesecake filling using the remaining 1/3 cup of brownie batter. Using a chopstick, swirl the brownie batter into the cheesecake filling to make a nice swirl design.

Step 8

Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. You can tell if it's ready when the center is set. Now that's baked, let it cool down for 2 hours.

Step 9

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 3 hours. Then take it out of the fridge and cut into how many pieces you would like to get out of the brownie. Be sure to store any leftover brownies in an airtight container in the fridge! Hope you enjoy this recipe! <3
