Ingredients

1 lb spaghetti noodles

8 oz white mushrooms

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp flour

1 clove garlic, diced

½ cup shredded parmesan cheese

¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

1 cup half and half

1 cup whole milk

½ cup pasta water

Salt and Pepper to taste

Chopped fresh basil

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the spaghetti noodles to al dente.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter and cook the garlic.

Step 3

Add the flour and cook for about one minute.

Step 4

Slowly whisk in the half and half, milk and reserved pasta water.

Step 5

Add the cheeses and continue to whisk until creamy.

Step 6

Season with salt and pepper.

Step 7

In a nonstick pan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter.

Step 8

Add the mushrooms, garlic, salt and pepper. Cook until lightly browned.

Step 9

Toss the spaghetti noodles with the sauce and top with the sauteed mushrooms in a large bowl. Add some grated parmesan and th chopped basil.

Step 10

Serve family style.
