Hi! We’re Delaney and Shelby—sisters, self-taught home cooks, and the duo behind yessidothecookingg. No matter your experience in the kitchen, you’ve come to the right place. We create simple, delicious recipes that anyone can make, because yes—you can do the cooking!

Meet Delaney:
Delaney, 25, is a proud graduate of St. Lawrence University, where she played field hockey and majored in Government and African Studies, with minors in Education Studies and Gender Studies. She graduated early in 2020 and later moved in with Shelby. Her background includes coaching field hockey and track, as well as working in sales for a major financial lending company.

Meet Shelby:
Shelby, 29, earned her degree in Health Promotion and Wellness Management from SUNY Oswego in 2017, followed by an Associate's degree in Nursing. She has worked in long-term care and on an ICU step-down unit that transitioned into a COVID unit during the pandemic—an experience that speaks to her resilience and compassion.

We grew up in Upstate New York alongside our parents and two other sisters. Our love for cooking was inspired by countless hours watching the Food Network and our family’s kitchen traditions. As kids, we dreamed of opening a restaurant together and even created a “menu” featuring Grandma Betty’s mac and cheese and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Although we took different paths in our early careers, life had a funny way of bringing us back to that childhood dream—just in a slightly different form. In January 2021, Delaney started posting recipes on TikTok as a fun way to stay connected with friends. When her tomato soup video unexpectedly went viral, everything changed. Soon after, she moved in with Shelby, and the two of us started filming and sharing recipes during our free time.

Fast forward to today: we’re now full-time content creators and recipe developers, running a food platform together. What started as a hobby has turned into a dream job, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
