Ingredients

Dry

½ cup almond meal

1 cup flour

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp ground dried sage

¼ tsp salt

Wet

½ cup (I stick) butter, melted

½ cup sugar

2 tbsp honey

1 tsp vanilla

1 egg

Directions

Dry

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350

Step 2

Combine all dry ingredients together in a bowl, and then combine all wet ingredients together in a separate bowl.

Step 3

Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, and stir everything together until you have a well combined dough.

Step 4

Scoop the dough onto a lightly greased sheet pan

Step 5

OPTIONAL make a little well in the dough balls by pressing your finger into them; you’ll also want to flatten the dough just a little, still leaving it plump since it will flatten out even more after baking. Add a tiny amount of honey (no more than 1/2 tsp) to the wells in the cookies, and top that with some more dried sage; you could add a tiny piece of sage leaf, or just a sprinkle of dried sage.

Step 6

Bake in the oven for about 8 minutes, and allow the cookies to cool fully before removing them from the pan.
