Ingredients

500 gram cake

500 ml black tea

½ cup raisins

2 tsp mixed spice

200 gram brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

½ tsp ginger

½ tsp nutmeg

2 tbsp molasses

1 egg

1 tsp milk

1,000 grams short crust

250 g powder sugar

1 tsp milk

Directions

Step 1

Break up old cake ( you can mix bread also if you have stale bread ) into crumbs then pour cold black tea all over making each piece moist . ( may be less or more than 500 ml ) add raisins mixed spice cinnamon nutmeg ginger brown sugar molasses or and egg and mix together then refrigerate for 3 hours minimum

Step 2

Line and grease a baking tray then roll out 500 grams of short crust and line the base of the tin. Pour in the filling then roll out another short crust and top the tin then prick with a fork and brush with egg and milk . Bake 200 c for 45 - 50 minutes

Step 3

Once baked let the cake cook down then add milk to powder sugar and cover the top . Slice into 8 squares and enjoy
