Ingredients

3 tbs butter

3 tbs flour

2 cup milk

salt

white pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp paprika

a pinch nutmeg

1 block cheddar cheese

10 potatoes

Directions

Step 1

Melt butter and whisk together with flour over the stove.

Step 2

Slowly whisk in 2 cups of milk while still on the heat.

Step 3

Season with salt and white pepper, then add garlic powder, cayenne pepper, paprika and grated nutmeg. Whisk together.

Step 4

Add in shredded cheddar cheese and mix.

200 grams cheddar cheese

Step 5

Using a mandolin, thinly slice potatoes then season with salt, pepper and some olive oil before laying in a baking dish.

Step 6

Pour the cheese sauce over the potatoes, cover with foil and bake at 200°C (390°F) for 30 mins.

Uncover, sprinkle more shredded cheddar cheese over the top and then let brown in the oven.

Garnish with parsley and enjoy!
