Ok friends, this is a basic bone broth pho recipe but it’s INCREDIBLE. 

Pho-ckin phở bò

Parboil your bones to get all the excess impurities out of the bone. This is essential Bc you want that clear clean broth.

After draining and rinsing the bones, add them back into the pot and throw in your oven roasted onion, ginger and salt. Occasionally skip the top to get rid of the remaining impurities and extra fat. Boil on low for 4-6 hours, add the beef cut of choice in at the last 2 hours.

aromatic mix (i use this to make it ez, it consists of  large piece of cassia bark and 2 cinnamon sticks, 6 star anises, 6 cloves, 2 coriander seeds, 2 teaspoons fennel seeds, 2 black cardamom pods)

Within the last 1-2 hours of simmering, add in your spice bag.

brisket, shank, or even chuck roast if you’re in a pinch :)

Season to taste, add in some beef meatballs and serve with vermicelli noodles, greens (quế & ngò gai, basically basil lol) bean sprout, scallions, limes, hoisin sauce, sriracha, etc💓

 enough water to cover the bones and then some
