Step 1
In a large bowl, add the maseca, salt & little by little, mix in the water until a dough forms.

Step 2
Using your hands or a tortilla press, make thick tortillas, between 4-6 inches in diameter & 1cm thick.

Step 3
Cook on a hot skillet for about 1-2 minutes per side.

Step 4
I recommend making a small one first, if it’s cracking when you’re trying to cut a slit through the middle, your dough is too dry so add water little by little again.
Step 5
When your Gorditas are cut open, fill with your fillings of choice, if using cheese, place back on the skillet to melt the cheese.
