Ingredients

1 ½ lbs thinly sliced beef(filet mignon or ribeye)

6 cloves garlic

½ cup soy sauce

½ cup calamansi juice

1 tsp sugar

2 tsp black pepper

2 red onions(cut into thick rounds)

2 - 3 tbsp neutral oil

Directions

Step 1

Marinate beef with garlic, soy sauce, calamansi juice, sugar, and black pepper for an hour to overnight.

Step 2

On medium high heat, sauté onions in oil until caramelized but still crunchy in the center.

2 red onions(cut into thick rounds)

2 - 3 tbsp neutral oil

Step 3

Remove the onions and add the beef to the pan.

1 ½ lbs thinly sliced beef(filet mignon or ribeye)

Step 4

Sauté the beef for a couple of minutes on each side and remove.

Step 5

Add the marinade to the pan and reduce to your liking. If the sauce overreduces, add beef broth.

Step 6

Add back the beef and onions and cook for a few more minutes.

Step 7

Enjoy with a side of rice.
