Ingredients

For the sauce

2 lbs ground beef

1 shallot diced

1 yellow onion diced

1 tbsp minced garlic

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp oregano

Salt & pepper (to taste)

1 tbsp worsteshire sauce

48 ounces pasta sauce

16 oz can diced tomatoes

¼ cup brown sugar

16 ounces ziti pasta noodles

For the ricotta

15 ounces ricotta cheese

1 egg

¼ cup shredded Parmesan

¼ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp onion powder

¼ tsp oregano

Salt and pepper (to taste)

16 ounce block mozzarella cheese

8 ounce block cheddar cheese

Large pot, cheese grater, lasagna pan
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°
Step 2
Brown ground beef in large pot, drain grease.
Step 3
Add in your diced onion, shallot, garlic and spices.

Once the onion becomes aromatic you can add in remaining ingredients for the sauce and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.

In a bowl, mix ricotta mixture and set aside.

15 ounces ricotta cheese

1 egg

¼ cup shredded Parmesan

¼ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp onion powder

¼ tsp oregano

Grate cheese, you can use pre shredded cheese but I do recommend grating it yourself.

16 ounce block mozzarella cheese

8 ounce block cheddar cheese

Now you can grab your lasagna pan and starting layering! Sauce, ricotta, cheese, and repeat.

Bake for 45 minutes covered and broil uncovered for 2 minutes or until slightly crispy.
