Ingredients

8 slices thick cut bacon

4 slices sourdough bread

1 tbsp mayo

½ steak tomato

1 romaine heart

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your smoker to 250 degrees.

Step 2

Now let’s season that bacon. I only seasoned it on one side. I used Spanglish asadero fiery citrus habanero. You can season with your favorite sweet rub.

Step 3

Now place the bacon on the grill, now let’s prep the veggies, slice the tomatoes into rounds, get 4 equal slices, as best as you can. You can leave the lettuce leaves whole or cut them thinly.

Step 4

I prefer to slice the lettuce leaves. Check the bacon after one hour and see how it looks, before you remove your bacon, toast the bread, smother some mayo on the bread on both sides and toast on med heat.

Step 5

Now it’s time to assemble, I added bacon jam to the bottom buns, you can use any other jam. Then the lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and place the top bun. Slice it in two or eat it as a whole sandwich.

Notes

Before assembling, do let the bacon cool for 2 min. You can use any other bread if you like. Serve along with fries or chips.
