Ingredients

1 rack of spare ribs

1 14oz French bread

1 cup bbq sauce

½ sweet onion

20 slices pickle chips

¼ cup brown sugar

½ cup agave syrup

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your smoker to 275 degrees.

Step 2

With the help of a paper towel, remove the back of the membrane from the ribs. It’s a small, very tough film of skin underneath the ribs. The paper towel will make it easier to grab.

Step 3

Use hot sauce as a binder or just oil. Season with your favorite bbq rub and place them in the smoker and leave them in there for 3 hours.

Step 4

After 3 hours have passed, wrap them in foil and add brown sugar and agave syrup to the ribs. This will give them a great sweet taste. Wrap and place back on the smoker for 1 more hour.

Step 5

While the ribs are in the smoker, slice the onions thin and toast the bread.

Step 6

Remove the ribs and see if you can wiggle and pull the bones out with ease. ( Be careful as the bones are really hot). If you can, they are done, if not re-wrap them with the foil and place them back on the smoker for an additional 30 min.

Step 7

Once the bones are all pulled out of the ribs, let’s assemble! Add BBQ sauce to the top and bottom bun, then the ribs, onions, and pickles. Slice up the sandwich and enjoy!
