Ingredients
6 egg roll wrappers
3 bananas
12 tablespoons hazelnut spread or melted dark chocolate
Vegetable or canola oil, for frying
1 egg yolk, beaten
Granulated sugar, for coating
Directions
Step 1
Peel the bananas and use a teaspoon or a small ice cream scoop to gently remove the inner part of each banana. Fill the cavity with hazelnut spread or melted dark chocolate.
Step 2
Cut each banana in half; each half will be used to make one egg roll.
Step 3
Lay out an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Spread a layer of chocolate on the lower third of the wrapper (the part closest to you), and place the filled banana half on top of the chocolate, leaving enough space at the bottom to roll.
Step 4
Carefully roll the wrapper over the banana, tucking in the sides toward the center over the banana, similar to folding a burrito. Use the beaten egg yolk to brush the final edge of the wrapper to seal the egg roll.
Step 5
Place the prepared egg rolls in the freezer to firm up slightly while you heat the oil.
Step 6
Heat a large frying pan with oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, remove the eggrolls from the freezer.
Step 7
Fry each egg roll for about 30-60 seconds on each side, or until golden brown. Use tongs to carefully turn the eggrolls for even frying.
Step 8
Transfer the fried egg rolls to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Step 9
Spread granulated sugar on a large plate and roll the egg rolls in the sugar until well coated.
Step 10
Serve the egg rolls warm and enjoy!
